This a photo of Alan Swanson in front of our car.
This photo was taken in front of Tipton’s house where the Harold Swanson’s lived. It was scanned back forwards from a negative so the porch was really flipped.
Anna Swanson (my Grandmother) Clarence (Swede) Swanson in his Navy uniform and Carl Swanson (my Grandfather)
OK, after reading the description, I see that this was not their home.
A little more background: At the time I lived there, Uncle Swede and Aunt Mary also lived there, and Aunt June, Uncle Billy and Uncle Bobby all lived nearby. We also used to spend time visiting with Uncle Les in South Omaha.
Uncle Carl lived in California, where he passed away in 1981. My Dad, Ed, passed away in 1984 in Omaha.
I have two brothers who still live in Nebraska, Chris (Omaha) and Ed (Fremont); my brother Ray and my Mom, Donna, both live out here in Southern California.

I guess my original comment, that these are also my grandparents and uncle, did not post.
My father was Edward Swanson, the second of the children of Carl and Anna (my Mom always referred to her as Elizabeth, but I've heard her called Anna as well.) I was born in Lincoln in 1950, but grew up, and have spent most of my life in California.
I was simply checking out my name on 123People.com (as recommended in an article on identity protection) when I saw an entry for "Old Family Photos."
I was pleasantly surprised to see this picture.
Well, as I read your other memories, it's starting to look like this might be a false alarm. You made reference to your grandpa Carl having tenant farmers; to the best of my recollection, my grandpa Carl worked for a public utility in Omaha, either the water company or the gas company. However, I definitely did have an uncle named Clarence with the nickname "Swede", and I recall my grandma being referred to as Anna (maiden name Andrews; she passed away in the 1980s), and my grandpa was named Carl; he passed away in 1951. They had 20 children, one of whom died very young, maybe in infancy and another named Swan, who was killed in WWII. Some of the other children's names were Carl (the oldest, born 1916), Ed, Les, Mary, Dorothy, Betty, June, Bill, Bob, Cliff, Walt, Marv (the youngest, born 1941.) They are not necessarily in order, and there are six more whose names don't come to mind right now; I haven't seen any of them in more than 35 years, but my brothers in Nebraska have kept in touch.
If we're really not related, please accept my apologies for the false assumption and intrusion, but I thought there were too many similarities for it to be a coincidence.
